Why this site exists

In 2022, a family member sold their home through an iBuyer and lost an estimated $45,000 relative to what a comparable listing would have netted — in exchange for 10 days of convenience they ultimately didn't need. When we dug into why, we found the published comparisons of cash offer programs were almost entirely written by the programs themselves or by affiliates paid by them.

CashOfferComparison.com is our attempt to build the resource we wish had existed in 2022. Each program is reviewed against the same framework; each calculator uses public fee sheets and verified PSA terms; each guide is written by our editorial team with input from attorneys and former program operators.

What we do

By the numbers

What we don't do

We don't originate leads for the programs we rank lowest. We don't accept payment to change a rating. We don't let programs preview drafts — they see our ratings the same day readers do. We don't write sponsored content that isn't labeled as sponsored (and we've never accepted a sponsored-content deal).

The inevitable question: if we refer some sellers to programs via our Get Matched product, and those programs pay us a match fee, doesn't that bias the reviews? The short answer: our match fees are equalized across programs in the same category, so the direction of any single referral doesn't change our revenue. That's a deliberate design choice, and it was the first thing we set up.
